Arturo O'Farrill Goes On Tour with His Afro-Cuban Sound
One of the pioneers of contemporary Latin jazz, Arturo O'Farrill will tour America with The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra. Arturo has made extraordinary steps in his career, going from being a highly prominent jazz sideman to becoming a triple Grammy award winner.
Known for his smooth performances that showcase his classic and poetic jazz, the accomplished composer and master of instruments, celebrates Afro-Cuban sounds derived from Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Arturo's birthplace, Mexico. The musician and The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra play big band nights every Sunday at one of the most well-known jazz venues in America and have toured Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Arturo O'Farrill's most recent album 'Familia: Tribute to Bebo & Chico' is a collaborative project with Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes and acts as a tribute to each of the artists' late fathers, Chico O'Farrill and Bebo Valdes, who were also pioneers of Afro-Cuban music.
