Opera Santa Barbara - The Barber of Seville

Opera Santa Barbara - The Barber of Seville at The Lobero

Why see Opera Santa Barbara - The Barber of Seville?

Figaro! Figaro! Figaro!

Playing like an operatic version of a greatest hits album, Santa Barbara Opera brings you the madcap comedy The Barber of Seville, conducted by Lyndon Meyer! The mischievous Count Almavira and his wily servant Figaro strive to woo the witty and beautiful Rosina right out from under the nose of her minder, Dr. Bartolo. With devious disguises, meddlesome mishaps, and some of opera's most famous music, the fate of the heart of this young girl is one thrilling and hilarious ride.

What is the Story?

The story follows Figaro, the Barber of Seville and a self-made matchmaker! His latest project is to ensure he can sprit away the beautiful Rosina to wed the dashing Count Almavira, much to the dismay of her guardian Dr. Bartolo who wants to marry her himself. Will love win the day, or will Figaro's cunning plans fail? Either way, it's a highly entertaining ride!
